FAI Days on the Amalfi Coast

A country that finds its roots in a joyful and reassuring event, which overcomes the barriers and makes everyone feel part of a unique and wonderful identity.

The FAI invites everyone to take part in this great Italian festival with 50,000 active volunteers from the North to the South including islands, ready to encourage people to discover history and beauty of thousands of cultural places. The days are open to everyone and each region has its own appointments, and this year the list of places is even more interesting and full of proposals.

In the area of Salerno the FAI Spring Days will have the theme “The Sacred Art in Salerno” and will take place in four municipalities: Salerno, Amalfi, Pagani and Ravello.

The places opened by the FAI delegation of Salerno will be: a private residence in the historic center showing precious unpublished paintings of the eighteenth century, the Medieval Eburnea Collection of the Diocesan Museum “San Matteo”, the Chapel of the Treasure of San Matteo in the Cathedral, the crypt of the Cathedral, the Nativity of Anna Barone De Riso in the Archiepiscopal Curia, the “Sala dei Polittici” in the Provincial Art Gallery, the exhibition “The recovery of a minor devotional patrimony” at the Catalan Arch of Palazzo Pinto, the Church of San Giorgio and the exhibition “The miraculous icons of Mount Athos” by Rosanna Cappello in FAI Headquarters in Salerno, Palazzo Pedace Cult Room

In Amalfi: the Diocesan Museum

In Pagani: the “Alfonsiano Museum” at the Pontifical Basilica of St. Alphonsus de Liguori;

In Ravello: the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo.

Sunday, March 25, there will be a hike from Amalfi to Ravello along the Dragone river.
